NCNW – Honoring Our Military Veterans

Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Gala, sponsored by Broward County Section National Council of Negro Women, Inc. This was their 1st annual gala designed to honor the retired soldiers for their dedicated work and career in the armed services.

Some of the honorees included: Major Dr. Henry Mack; Sergeant First Class (E-7) Avis Boyd-Gaines; Sergeant First Class (E-7) Darrell Spencer; Staff Sergeant (E-6) Deborah C. Allen; Staff Sergeant (E-6) Curtis Walker; Sergeant (E-5) Kersandra Elaine Brooks; Sergeant (E-5) Jenice Jonas; Specialist IV (SPC E-4) Ruffus Waters; Specialist IV (SPC E-4) James Roberts; Private First Class (E-3) Dr. Reverend James Gooden; Petty Officer, Sevond Class (E-5) Coxana Moss; Commander (O-5) Carletta Young Evans; Captain (O-3) Captain Kimberly Coward; Master Sergeant (E-7) Tanisha Stevens; Sergeant Eddie James Smith; Lance Corporal (E-3) Robert Martin.

A wonderful evening for a wonderful cause wouldn’t have been complete without the silent auction items, saxophonist Michael Kennedy, guest speaker from Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief and distinguished guests.
